Call for Participation in the Sustainable Fisheries Support Program

The Fisheries Directorate hereby issues a public call inviting interested fishers, cooperatives, and organizations involved in the fisheries sector to apply for participation in the Sustainable Fisheries Support Program for the current calendar year.

The program aims to promote responsible fishing practices, enhance marine conservation efforts, and support the modernization of small-scale fishing operations through technical assistance, financial support, and capacity-building initiatives.

Eligible applicants include:

• Licensed individual fishers

• Registered fishing cooperatives

• Non-governmental organizations active in the field of marine protection

• Educational institutions and research centers involved in fisheries-related work

Support may include:

• Grants for the purchase of sustainable fishing gear

• Training on environmentally responsible fishing methods

• Co-financing of vessel modernization to meet ecological standards

• Access to marine conservation projects and protected areas management
